Has high gas prices made you think of buying a small car?
Well, its happened! oil reached over $124.00 a barrel! now its looking like gas will be $4.00 or more a gallon! With prices that high people with gas guzzling trucks,vans and SUVs must be feeling the hurt on their pocketbooks!. Am I the only person that is buying a brand new small economy car? (2008 Ford Focus). When gas cost 25% of your paycheck you start to think. Anyway, are there any folks that are planning on getting a new small car?
Um, the warning signs have been out there for years. Too bad too many Americans were such blind sheep and listened to GW Bush, Rush Limbag, and their type. Environmentalists, liberals and economists have said for over a decade this calamity was coming. The right convinced Americans it was all liberal propaganda (like they are with global warming today). Remember when they said Liberals were trying to take away peoples SUVs and cars because liberals were socialists? Remember that. No the chickens have come home, and gasoline costs over 3.60 where I live.
I was smart enough to study up on the oil market and gasoline sales three years ago and bought a ford focus. Further, I moved into a cheaper neighborhood that is closer to both of my jobs. I spend maybe 20 dollars a week on gasoline.
Both jobs are within 5 miles of my house. The only time I drive over 20 miles in a day is on Fridays (I play softball in the a suburb of Minneapolis, MN but I live across the river in Saint Paul). Fridays I might drive 30 miles total. I would say I can go between 10-11 days on 1 tank if I watch my speed and dont waste gas idling at banks, drive throughs or taking forever to warm up my car.
