Brass Straight

Often used in jazz and popular music, this instrument was invented by Adolphe Sax in 1840. Patented in 1846, did not gain popularity for many years. Sax invented this instrument, while working on a clarinet, and this is similar to that instrument. The inventor of the saxophone wanted the brass power and finesse of a wind instrument.
The saxophone uses a single reed mouthpiece like a clarinet, but with a round or square inside the vacuum chamber. The body of the saxophone is actually conical, giving acoustic properties such as the oboe. However, unlike the oboe, whose tube is a single cone, most saxophones have a distinctive curve in the hood. Soprano soprano straight and are more frequent than the corners, and very few straight alto and tenor saxophones have been made, as novelties.
How do you make? Everyone Saxophones are made of brass. Other experiments have been tried, and wood. After the construction of the saxophone, a lacquer is applied. However, manufacturers have the option of the board of the saxophone with silver or gold to make it look better and give better sound. A debate in the saxophone community believes that the sound of the saxophone with changes in the lacquer. Some, however do not believe this. Although research to some degree has demonstrated that this could be true.
The nozzle the saxophone is made of rubber, metal or plastic. Plastic nozzles are bad for a metal sound, while giving the best and deepest sound effect.
The beauty of sound emanating from saxophone has been well established today. Although this instrument is played solo, ensembles are much more a possibility, especially when several members of the saxophone family are played in combination. Although only occasionally called for in orchestral music, saxophone sections (for usually covers the alto, tenor, baritone and instruments, but sometimes also the soprano and / or bass) are an important part of the big band jazz, as well as military, concert and bands. Sets consisting exclusively of saxophones are also popular, with the most common being the saxophone quartet
Many believe that becoming in a good saxophone player is relatively easy. Moreover when you are switching from another wind instrument. Today, many of the practices necessary to improve the technique to play the saxophone. It is not easy and through the design specifications of the instrument, many different colors of tone can be achieved. Controlling this requires a lot of determination mixed with practice.
The saxophone is actually very nice when played properly, can be brilliant or deep with baffles, reflective. Sets saxophone with their families can form a beautiful form of music. Used in jazz and funk, this instrument has shown their point and won our hearts, though rejected in the beginning.
